Kaspar Maurer

From a very young age his life was steeped in music and he began learning the violin. He entered the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève in the class of Monsieur Corrado Romano and obtained a certificate of professional ability.

In the same period, his vocation as an instrument maker became clear and he left to attend the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, USA.

Having obtained his diploma as an instrument maker, he improved his skill in restoration at a great workshop in Germany with Roger Hargrave, where he had access to the mostprestigious instruments.

In 1986, he set up his business in Geneva and found his customers among a large range of musicians by offering them immaculate work.

As a viola player, he belongs to various musical groups and finds this an ideal accompaniment to his work.

Hélène Monziès

In 2006, she joined the workshop of Kaspar Maurer. She carries out repairs, maintenance, restoration and instrument tuning and is also involved with helping clients.

Mother of two young children, she works part-time.
